The course intends to discuss the constitutional and political systems destined to guarantee and promote human rights and fundamental freedoms and their interactions with supranational systems, with emphasis on the European Union. The course will include themes such as independence and harmony among State powers, presidentialism and parliamentarianism, constitutionality control, and protection of individual freedom and social rights, allowing the students to understand the similitudes and differences between the Italian and Brazilian constitutions. The aim is to contribute to the development of the students’ international legal and political competencies.
