Como a expansão internacional pode transformar a Educação Superior e promover a ação comunitária? Esse é o tema da 9ª edição do SPIn.
O Simpósio de Internacionalização (SPIn) consolidou-se como um dos grandes eventos anuais da Pró-Reitoria de Pesquisa, Pós-graduação e Inovação da PUCPR (PRPPI), e vem fortalecendo a discussão acadêmica e de alto nível em torno da Internacionalização da Educação Superior.
Para essa edição do SPIn, o tema “Internacionalização e Ação Comunitária” tem como objetivo debater sobre o papel que as Instituições de Ensino Superior têm nas questões de engajamento social, bem como na busca de soluções para problemas locais e globais.
Over the past nine years, the PUCPR international team has been creating incredible events to promote what we love and know best: the internationalization of higher education! Our events have always been carefully designed in order to encourage excellence in essential activities and highlight relevant issues of such fascinating topics for faculty, students, and staff.
For the ninth edition of the Symposium PUCPR on Internationalization (SPIn), the theme is “Internationalization and Civic Engagement” and the prominent role that higher education institutions must play to meet social engagement and the search for solutions to local and global issues.

Abertura do IX Simpósio PUCPR de Internacionalização (SPIn) e apresentação das iniciativas da PUCPR International.
Trata-se, num primeiro momento, de historiar as experiências de atividades realizadas institucionalmente conjuntas entre a PUCPR e a Associação Internacional de Sociólogos de Língua Francesa e a RED Internacional e Interdisciplinar de Desigualdades, sobre a expressão e estudos epistemológicos das diferenças e desigualdades sociais. Num segundo momento, analisar a produção teórica do grupo, a partir de congressos e produções escritas até momento, sobre o tema a partir de uma intercessão dialógica entre uma epistemologia mais europeia a latino-americana.

Universities have a responsibility to society, but how can their internationalization contribute towards solving urgent problems in society?
Com uma atuação para além dos seus muros, a PUCPR desenvolve uma série de atividades sociais que provocam a comunidade ao engajamento ético, político e social. Por meio de sua área identitária a universidade desenvolve dois programa: Vizinhança e Lampedusa. Ambos surgem a partir da provocação do Papa Francisco de ouvir, acolher, aprender e integrar os mais vulneráveis. Nesta comunicação apresentaremos alguns detalhes desses programas.

Dr. Uwe Brandenburg
Dr. Brandenburg headed the international office at the Technical University in Cottbus, Germany (1994-1997), and the international office at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (1997-2005); he worked as a project manager at CHE and CHE Consult (2006-2012) and a managing partner at CHE Consult Berlin and CHE Consult Prague (2013-2017). Dr. Brandenburg was an associate professor for regional cooperation and impact of higher education at the Universitat Rovira I Virgili, Tarragona, Spain (2017-2021). Since July 2017, Dr. Brandenburg is the managing director of the Global Impact Institute and visiting professor at the European Business School at their campus in Berlin.
Dr. Brandenburg was an elected member of the general council of the European Association for International Educators (EAIE) and currently serves as an elected member of the convocation court of the University of Bristol. He was a core expert to the IAU (International Association of Universities) and to the ad hoc expert group on internationalization. Dr. Brandenburg has more than 20 years of professional experience in internationalization and project leadership.
